It’s October, and I bet you are getting back into the swing of things for the school year. You’ve established routines and perhaps you are back to using your e-books, e-posters, and online assessments for your instruction. You might even be creating customized assignments for your students. If you are a returning Benchmark Universe user, you may have noticed a new feature in your assignments area—Assignment Templates!
What are assignment templates?
Assignment templates allow you to reuse an assignment you created last year.
How does that help me?
In short, it saves you time. Assignment templates will save all the important details of an assignment from the previous school year, like your materials (even customized versions) and instructional text.
But I have new students this year and obviously the due dates have changed. How much new information do I need to add?
To use your assignment again this year, you only have to add your new students to the assignment and give it a new set of dates. Quick and easy.
Great! How do I use them?
Follow these easy steps:
Go to your assignments area in Benchmark Universe.
Look for My Templates on the left and click on the previous school term.
In the list that loads, find the assignment you want to reuse and click on it. Then, add students and select start and due dates for the assignment.
Make any additional changes to materials, instructions, or audio settings. Now, you can send the assignment to your students! (If you’re not ready to send quite yet, simply leave the start and due dates empty and the assignment will be saved to your drafts.)
Now you’re ready to reuse your assignments and save yourself a whole bunch of time this school year!
